Affiliate Marketing – A Definition
What Is Affiliate Marketing & How Do I Start?
Affiliate marketing in simple layman terms is the process where a person or marketer actively promotes the product of a vendor and when that product is sold the vendor pays the marketer a percentage of the sale which is called a commission.
Commissions can vary from vendor to vendor but are usually found starting at 20% and making their war up to as high as 50% to 60%.
Getting Started
Getting started is FREE for most platforms but on occasion, a promoter of the affiliate offer would find themselves having to buy into the offer to then be able to promote it.
This is not at all a bad thing as in promoting an offer, I would imagine as the affiliate, the best and most sure way to engage an audience to look at what you are offering would be the ability to speak from personal experience.
Platforms such as ClickBank, WarriorPlus and JVZoo are the most visited websites when it comes to starting affiliate marketing as a business or even side hustle.
It is important to note as well that as one grows as an affiliate marketer and goes on to create and produce products, the same websites I listed above are also where you’d go to woo other affiliates to help with your product promotion.
All an affiliate would need to do is to go to the website of the offer he or she seeks to promote and usually found in the footer section of that website one can see in the menu a tab which says affiliate program.
