Website traffic has long been the main problem for many a marketer starting out in their online business journey. But it doesn’t have to be if you know what you’re doing.
Also when you know where to go hunting for your ideal prospects, then the search for website traffic becomes so much easier and far more rewarding.
In this post, I am going to share with you where you can discover seven (7) proven website traffic resources so you never have to wonder where the next leads are going to be coming from.
In choosing the seven traffic resources that I share, you will also discover them to be for the most part sources of organic or what we like to refer to as free traffic, but paid traffic is always good too.
Why Is Website Traffic Important?
Traffic has long been noted as the lifeblood of any business and this is so whether online or offline. Visitors to your website are also referred to as website traffic and these visitors contribute to the sales your website generates on a daily basis.
If your website is not receiving traffic, then it means people are not seeing your content or offers and thus you will not be able to make sales and generate an income or have a business.
So this is why website traffic is very important and crucial to the survival of your business. No traffic means no sales and that in turn means no money or income.
Proven Resource #1 – SEO
One of the earliest and well-known ways of getting website traffic is through search engine optimization or SEO for short. Generating free traffic through SEO has always been a way of acquiring traffic, but it can take a lot of time.
Another myth surrounding the acquisition of website traffic is that you need a big budget. But you don’t. You can start small and that is where SEO comes in as when you optimize your site for it to rank on Google, then the visitors will come.
Google is one of the biggest free website traffic sources there is, but you need SEO to be employed in helping Google to identify your website and see it as being worthy to showcase to the internet world.
I will tell you though to do not rely totally on SEO for all your traffic needs as there are other credible and noteworthy traffic resources out there in cyberspace. Read here what Neil Patel has to say and you’ll see my point.
Proven Resource #2 – YouTube
Following closely on the heels of SEO is YouTube. YouTube is the second biggest search engine there is and is an excellent source for website traffic. How is this possible you ask?
Many people even marketers do not utilize the potential that is in YouTube. All that needs to be done is to post links in the description of your videos and you can even put them on your channel, leading visitors to your website.
Video is the best way to captivate audiences and so it stands to reason that with being the second largest search engine after Google then YouTube would be your best bet for website traffic.
YouTube has more than a 1.5 billion monthly users. The platform is so expansive that it can be accessed in 80 different languages, accounting for 95% of the world’s population. That’s why, YouTube provides your brand a unique sales channel to market your products, and for users to experience and share it in an easier way.
Proven Resource #3 – Pinterest
Pinterest is a sleeper when it comes to generating website traffic.
It is one of the overlooked resources one can use to get website traffic. In fact, learn how you can start getting traffic from Pinterest today.
Pinterest is a search engine for project ideas and beautiful photos or pins as they are referred to.
This can be a goldmine if you get to learn how to use it well.
However, as with every other strategy you might want to try, you must stick to one or at most two of the resources I share over a 3 to 6 month time period.
In this way, you will become better and better at using the platform and in being consistent will get to see results over time that you can be proud of.
Pinterest boasts of no less than 335 million active users as of Spring 2020 and that was a 26% increase over the previous year.
Over 75 billion pins have been uploaded to Pinterest as of September 2016.
Adding a pin it button to your blog posts is a great way to start getting your pins on Pinterest.
When it comes to Pinterest users though, more of them are women making up 79% back in 2014, even though men do make up a relevant group.
On Average 1 pin gets 11 repins and generates 6 website visits
87% of people on Pinterest have bought a product because of Pinterest. 93% use Pinterest to plan a future purchase.
According to Shareaholic Pinterest is the second best social networks when it comes to driving traffic to a website – right behind Facebook. Pinterest accounts for over 5% of all referral traffic.
So as you can see, Pinterest is a powerhouse. More useful information about Pinterest can be sourced here at thesocialms
So we still have a good few resources to be shared and if at any time after reading this post, you feel like you want to connect with me to get even more information on this or other topics in the online space then feel free to connect.
Proven Resource #4 – Quora
People searching for solutions to their problems online will often find their way to this website to get the answers they need. How much more should you also frequent this pool if you’re looking to hook the right fish.
Let’s face it. Information is sought by more people daily and even more so now since the onset of Covid, with more and more people now working from home or looking to start an online side hustle.
Quora is an excellent proven resource for not only obtaining website traffic but also establishing yourself as an authority. Just building your credibility as you take on and answer questions, offering good advice, will lead more and more people to you.
Ultimately, as you link people to the info that helps them solve their problems, it may be that you have a blog post that speaks directly to what they need and you can invariably point them to your website. Best of all it’s free.
Proven Resource #5 – Facebook Groups
With over two billion known users, FaceBook is a giant for website traffic both organically acquired as well as through paid ads. FaceBook known for its laser-targeted audiences continues to woo marketers and no wonder.
Easily one of the best platforms for generating website traffic, FaceBook continues to dominate. The reason Facebook groups work so well is that FaceBook has shifted its focus to group activity and fostering a community-type environment.
That shift would have seen a dramatic falloff in the attention being paid to the business pages of their users. There are many ways you can generate traffic to your website from within a Facebook group.
One of the ways I would suggest is that you create a lead magnet around the topic of what you teach in your group. Then when you drive visitors to your group, to get inside they have to fill out your landing page form and there you got them.
You can now feel free to start sending your list emails as you further help them with their problems through the same emails, you can direct them to your blog or offers designed to help them.
In the Facebook group again as it is your group and your tribe, you are seen as the authority.
Facebook groups are a powerful marketing tool, helping you attract new customers and engage current ones with exclusive content, community, and support.
Proven Resource #6 – LinkedIn
You might have noticed so far that for most of the resources, if not, with all but one, I am suggesting the uses of social media platforms.
We shall now consider a strong platform in LinkedIn. With this platform, you can easily get the website traffic you seek and it is of high quality.
As with all the others, the rule of thumb is to post daily and be consistent, offering value and solving problems. In no time you’ll be a superstar.
While LinkedIn may be chief for getting its users’ organic traffic, it also utilizes a blog within its platform. Most of the users on LinkedIn are professional and are eager to engage. You can’t go wrong using LinkedIn. Here are some other ways you can get LinkedIn to work for you in drawing traffic to your website.
Proven Resource #7 – Your Blog
Your blog is ideally the best source that I can think of for attracting website traffic. Why? Your blog is an information resource where you can generate posts on demand covering a number of areas relevant to the desires of your audience.
Each post has a very far reach as it can be shared through the social media platform of your choice. And with your blog, if treated as the business that it is, can bring you so much traffic, you won’t be able to turn it off.
One of the benefits of having and or utilizing your personal blog is just that. Your blog belongs to you and so your content is safely yours. But on social media platforms, you do not have the same degree of control. Something to think about.
As I begin to wrap up this post, I hope that I have given you ideas on where you can pick up good solid traffic. Do remember that there is also paid traffic which can never be replaced as it is just as good as free or organic traffic.
I want to leave you with the 39 best places to promote blog posts for more blog traffic.
I also want to share with you what I would like to call a bonus website traffic resource.
Bonus Proven Resource – Tik Tok
There is no getting around the fact that videos help tremendously in businesses generating sales for their brand. One such platform that many are in recent times finding immeasurable success with has been that of Tik Tok.
Tik Tok has been a gold mine for massive engaged traffic and the videos are somewhat equivalent to YouTube Shorts as it relates to the length of the video, with most coming in under 60 seconds.
The age range of persons using Tik Tok varies between 18 to 40 but from my observation mostly used by young Millenials.
I haven’t done much research into the stats as related to Tik Tok, but from what little I do know and have seen personally, is that it is an untapped gold mine when it comes to organic traffic.
You would do well to give it a look and maybe see what it can do for you.
